From CRO head to Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer

Claes Strom joined Pharmacosmos on 1 May 2010, initially as head of Pharmacosmos CRO, and later as Vice President, Marketing and Medical Affairs and on the 5th of March 2018 Vice President, Affiliates & Medical Affairs. He was appointed Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer in January 2022, and later Executive Vice President in May 2024.

Prior to joining Pharmacosmos,

After graduating from Medical School, Claes worked for a number of years in Cardiology primarily at the Danish National Hospital where he also did his PhD. He went on to join the Pharmaceutical industry with GlaxoSmithKline working in different management roles in medical affairs and marketing. He then joined aCROnordic, one of the leading full service clinical CROs in the Nordic that was later acquired by Ecron Acunova, where he served as Director, Clinical Operations, Partner and finally Chief Operating Officer before joining Pharmacosmos. In addition to his Medical Degree and PhD from University of Copenhagen he has a finance degree (HD) from Copenhagen Business School.

Aside from work,

Claes enjoys traveling and doing sports, especially running.
